Sneak Peak: Rebecca & Scott!

While I process their wedding photos, I wanted to give a sneak peak at the photos from Rebecca and Scott’s wedding a couple of weeks ago. They just returned from a fabulous honeymoon in France, Belgium, and the Netherlands, and they have a zillion photos to go through, but I thought I’d add a couple more.

I just think they are the bee’s knees. Check them out!

A longer blog to follow!

Seasons

Hello there! I haven’t updated this blog regularly in a while, mainly because it was off-season for weddings. Now that wedding season is in full swing again, expect some great blogs coming up shortly, particularly some “sneak peaks” at the most recent weddings I’ve shot.

In the meantime, if you’re so inclined, check out another blog I started in January, mainly for food photography and writing. I’ve shot quite a number of food-related events, documented my visits to eateries, posted recipes from cookbooks I’ve purchased, and will be reviewing new cookbooks and more restaurants in the coming weeks. Lots of activity over there!

This site has taken up the bulk of my off-season from weddings. Please have a look and, if you’re so inclined, bookmark that site, too (www.jackiewrites.com), to follow my adventures in food. Here are a few shots to tempt you.

Stricken Smitten

I had the privilege of photographing the most delicious goods the other day: various hand-dyed yarns by Seattle’s Yarn Maven, Desiree of Stricken Smitten. This yarn is just yummy. I had heard great things about it from knitter friends of mine, but when I saw the real goods, I was indeed stricken, and then smitten. This is the kind of stuff you want to pile on the floor in a big mound and roll around in.

Ahem.

(I really did NOT do this to your yarn, Desiree. I promise!)

In any case, she had asked for a few glamor shots of her goods, for potential publication, and I was only too happy to oblige. And if you are a knitter, I highly recommend picking up some of her luxury skeins at her Etsy shop, linked above. You won’t be disappointed. This is high-quality stuff, and I can only hope that I portrayed this in the following photos. She pretty much gave me artistic freedom with this shoot, so I went nuts.

Here are, as always, a few of my favorite shots from the shoot! Enjoy!
