Lis & Jeff Are Engaged!

I worked with Lis a few years ago and have kept somewhat in touch over the years. She’s a wonderful person and I was excited to hear she’d found a really wonderful guy, Jeff. When she asked me to photograph their upcoming beach wedding, I was thrilled! I can’t hardly wait to capture them tying the knot. As evidenced from these photos, they are very much in love, and he adores her (and likewise).

All photos were shot on a rainy day at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens east of Seattle. What a lovely place, and it was the spot for one of their first dates. Thanks for braving the rain, you two lovebirds!

Stricken Smitten

I had the privilege of photographing the most delicious goods the other day: various hand-dyed yarns by Seattle’s Yarn Maven, Desiree of Stricken Smitten. This yarn is just yummy. I had heard great things about it from knitter friends of mine, but when I saw the real goods, I was indeed stricken, and then smitten. This is the kind of stuff you want to pile on the floor in a big mound and roll around in.

Ahem.

(I really did NOT do this to your yarn, Desiree. I promise!)

In any case, she had asked for a few glamor shots of her goods, for potential publication, and I was only too happy to oblige. And if you are a knitter, I highly recommend picking up some of her luxury skeins at her Etsy shop, linked above. You won’t be disappointed. This is high-quality stuff, and I can only hope that I portrayed this in the following photos. She pretty much gave me artistic freedom with this shoot, so I went nuts.

Here are, as always, a few of my favorite shots from the shoot! Enjoy!

The Brains Behind Bastille.

Shannon Galusha is the man behind Bastille Cafe and Bar in Ballard/Seattle. And what a fantastic place it is. As we were doing headshots of him, for his image stock, I asked him how business was doing in his first six months open. “There’s an hour wait almost every day,” he said. And that’s impressive for Seattle, as you can tell that this place isn’t cheap. This is a place where you go to splurge. And the restaurant isn’t tiny, either. They have a ton of tables. Also, Seattle diners are pretty picky. They don’t revisit a place that’s expensive unless it’s got good food and good atmosphere.

Shannon is delightful and I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him, taking his pictures, and, while waiting, snapping a few shots of the interior.

Rick and I plan to go there in the not-to-distant future!

Another Fun Product Shoot!

Many of you might remember the blog from when we launched this web site on January 1, which was a product shoot. Well, we did yet another product shoot for the wonderful Seattle company, Compendium, which designs/sells/distributes inspirational gifts to retailers. They have some really lovely books, notebooks, wrapping paper, and so on.  Check out their site! www.live-inspired.com

Pathway Medical.

A couple of months ago, I had the opportunity to photograph a big launch party for Pathway Medical. It was held at the Experience Music Project (EMP) building in downtown Seattle. What a treat! It was a wonderful gathering of about 200 employees and guests, as they celebrated a major milestone in their business. I was honored to have been asked to photograph their event!

Catalog Product Shots.

I shot these over several weeks in October for the product catalog for Compendium, Inc. in the Fremont area of Seattle. I really enjoyed shooting their gorgeous products, as well as some of stores that carry their products.

Indeed.

Be happy!
